Er studierte an der Glasgow School of Art und am Chelsea College of Art in London. Von Oktober 2002 bis Juni 2003 arbeitete er im Rahmen des Abbey-Stipendiums für Malerei an der British School in Rom. Darren Marshall bedient sich der Medien Malerei, Fotografie und Video, seine Werke werden in Großbritannien und international ausgestellt. Arbeiten von ihm befinden sich u.a. in der Saatchi Gallery in London.
